Ceramic Coating & Paint Correction in Cedar Rapids, IA

Paint correction, ceramic coatings, and luxury detailing performed in a controlled shop by an IDA-certified detailer. We serve the Cedar Rapids metro from our shop in Springville, and we never run volume work. Your vehicle is the only one we touch while it is here, and it gets the attention it deserves from arrival to final inspection.

Detailing Done at a Higher Level

This is not a quick polish and coat.

Every vehicle starts with a paint evaluation and paint thickness readings, followed by the right level of paint enhancement or correction for its finish and condition. Not every vehicle needs full multi-stage correction, and we will tell you honestly what yours actually needs. Because coatings need a clean, climate-stable space to bond and cure, all of this happens in-shop, in a controlled environment, never in a driveway.

Paint Correction

Paint Correction That Removes the Damage, Not Just Hides It

Fifty-fifty comparison of corrected and swirled paint under inspection lighting

Swirl marks, fine scratches, oxidation, and water spots are usually the result of automated car washes and improper washing or drying. Paint correction uses machine polishing and the right combination of compounds and pads to level the clear coat and remove those defects instead of filling them in temporarily. Done correctly, correction can remove 70 to 90 percent of surface defects depending on the paint and its condition. Some deep imperfections may remain, and we will tell you honestly what your paint can and cannot recover before we start.

Correction matters most right before a coating goes on. A ceramic coating locks in whatever is underneath it, so it is worth correcting or enhancing the paint first. That is the difference between a finish that looks deep and clear for years and one that simply seals in the swirls.

70 to 90%

Typical surface defect removal depends on paint type, clear coat depth, and vehicle condition.

Ceramic Coating Options for How You Actually Drive

A quality ceramic coating bonds to your paint and adds a hard, hydrophobic layer that resists UV, chemicals, bug splatter, and road grime. It makes the vehicle far easier to keep clean and protects your investment over the long haul. We match the coating to how you drive and how long you plan to keep the vehicle.

3-Year and 7-Year Ceramic Coatings

Choose the level of protection that fits your goals and budget. Both our 3-year and 7-year coatings are backed by the CME Guarantee when you keep up with your Annual Inspection Maintenance Detail.

Monticello Police Department patrol vehicle after paint correction and ceramic coating

Monticello Police Department patrol vehicle

Paint correction and a ceramic coating for lasting protection.

One of our patrol vehicles for the Monticello Police Department was badly damaged by a stray dog that had jumped on and left scratches all down the sides of the vehicle. Chad was able to return the vehicle to a condition better than when it was new. Chad did paint correction and applied a ceramic finish that will give the vehicle an added layer of protection. Thanks Chad for the amazing work!

Britt Smith, Monticello Police Department

New truck with a high gloss finish after ceramic coating

Chad does amazing work. I bought a new truck and knew that I wanted to get it looking the best that it could. We talked about options, Chad polished all of the imperfections out of the paint and made it shine before doing a ceramic coat. I couldn't be happier with the shine and protection that he added to my truck. Pictures don't do it justice, the work and mirror-like finish that CME Shine is capable of.

FAQ

Ceramic Coating and Paint Correction FAQ

How much does ceramic coating cost in Cedar Rapids?

Our ceramic coating packages start at $1,195 for the 3-year CandyCoat Elite and $1,395 for the most popular 7-year CandyCoat Ultimate Shine. Final pricing depends on your vehicle's size and the condition of the paint, which we confirm during an in-person inspection.

How long does a ceramic coating last?

We offer 3-year and 7-year ceramic coatings. Both are backed by the CME Guarantee when you keep up with your Annual Inspection Maintenance Detail. How long any coating lasts also depends on how the vehicle is washed, dried, and maintained.

What is paint correction, and do I need it before a coating?

Paint correction uses machine polishing to remove swirl marks, light scratches, and oxidation rather than hide them. We recommend at least a paint enhancement before a coating, because the coating seals in whatever is underneath it. Prepping the paint first is what gives you a deep, clear finish that lasts.

What is the difference between the 3-year and 7-year coatings?

The 3-year CandyCoat Elite covers your painted surfaces with a 1-step enhancement and is a great value for frequent upgraders. The 7-year CandyCoat Ultimate Shine is our most popular package and adds coating on trim and wheel faces, premium glass treatment, and the option for more correction. Both are backed by the CME Guarantee.

How long does the process take?

Most coating packages take 2 to 4 days, since proper preparation, enhancement, and curing cannot be rushed. We will give you a clear timeline when you book.
